Why You Shouldn’t Believe Those “I Buy Houses” Posters

Jason Hull of We Buy Johnson County, Texas Homes at the Johnson County line

You may have seen the posters on street corners. Someone usually has one up on Alsbury Road, off of I-35 right as you’re coming into Burleson. We recently saw a bunch of them on some of the county roads between Grandview and Cleburne.

They usually say something like

CALL 817-555-1212

They’re either sticking up in the median of Highway 67 in going from Venus to Alvarado or stapled to electric poles as you get on to the Chisolm Trail Parkway in Cleburne.

Whether it’s because you’re facing a foreclosure, have gotten a divorce, inherited a property, need to move to get your kid in a school district, or just need the cash fast, you’re tempted to call the number.

If you do, you’re going to get the run-around.

It’s because 99% of the people who make these “I Buy Houses” signs are just getting started.

They don’t actually have the cash to buy.

They’ve watched Home Town on HGTV and thought that they could do that. They heard about people who made a bunch of money in real estate and thought that they’d like to get a piece of the action. They Googled how to buy real estate. The articles told them to make “bandit signs,” and the phone would ring off the hook.

If you call them, they’re going to find out about your house, make an offer, and if you accept it, they are the dog who caught the car. They don’t know what to do.

So, they’re going to hit up every friend, family member, and Internet website they can to try to find a buyer.

They’re looking for people like us (by the way, if you are a wholesaler, we are happy to pay finder’s fees).

They’re looking for people who can actually buy your house.

That process takes time.

You don’t have time.

You need to sell your house immediately.

Furthermore, as I just clearly stated above, if I go through someone to buy a house, I’m going to pay them for finding the house for me.

That means that we can pay less for the property than we would if you just work with us directly.

We use our own funds to buy houses.

That means we only buy a few houses a year.

However, if we tell you that we’ll buy your house and you accept our offer, then you have certainty knowing that we’ll buy your house. We have a relationship of more than a decade with our title agent, Jason Pedigo of Fidelity Title in Burleson, Texas, who has closed on dozens of real estate transactions with us. We don’t want to waste your time, and we don’t want to waste our time.

If you need to sell your Johnson County, Texas property right away, contact us, and send pictures and, preferably, a video as well, of your property to jhull at webuyjohnsoncountytexashomes dot com, and, if we are buying, we’ll make you an offer. If we’re not currently buying, we’ll try to connect you with people who can help you.

Or, you can take a risk and call the number on one of the “I BUY HOUSES” signs. Drive around Grandview, Joshua, or Burleson. They’re easy to find.
